These commands will make your life easier as you will be talking to your dog, and he will act accordingly to these 7 major commands. So, let us get started with them and make sure that you teach your dog all of them.

1. Sit

It is important to teach sit at first as it is the most natural concept for many dogs. It is hence also one of the very easy commands that your dog can learn. Dogs that are new to training will grab the concept really quick as well. It is a transition that once your dog learns to respond to sit, you can move it onto other directions.

2. Down or Lay

Commanding your dog to lay is also the second-best and most helpful of commands. When your dog is sitting or standing, it will run off without anything coming it’s way, but when it is laid down, you are the one who is in charge, and hence you get to control him better. Lay is also a transition to the more complicated tricks such as rolling over or playing dead.

3. Stay

Dogs that know how to stay will not run into a street if they are let loose hence this is one of the most important skills that you must teach your dog. It would help if you started teaching it when your dog or pup is rather tired or hungry so that it doesn’t get that hyper to focus. In this part, you must be patient as all essential commands to teach your dog won’t be easy for your dog or you. Your dog may take a couple of days or may take weeks to understand the command Stay. But it will protect your dog from any danger; hence you must keep some treats or kibble at access so that you can keep on practicing. Stay must always be a part of all dog training lessons.

4. Come

If you are often letting your dog loose and don’t want to tie it down, then come is an important command you should teach your pet. When you have let your dog loose in a park, you should also assure that it has learned the Come command well. This command, along with the rest, can make your life with your pet be easy on the road and at home alike.

5. Heel

Dogs of all sizes must know how to heel or walk by you calmly. This is mainly important when you take your dog on an exercise in busy areas where you don’t get much room over the sidewalk. This command is even more important to learn for bigger in size pups that will pull on the leash. And once your dog learns to heel, you will be able to enjoy pleasant walks with it outside.

6. Off

Most dog owners say that keeping these pets from jumping on furniture or visitors is a major issue. Hence, if you wish to keep your furry friend over the floor and not on your friends, off is what it must learn. You can teach this command by turning your backside when it jumps up and grabbing its paws, and shaking the plastic bottle filled with pennies while you are saying off. These things will keep your dog from jumping over people or house furniture.

7. No

You should teach your pup to respond to No as often your pet may be doing things it should not be doing, and hence you should tell it to stop saying NO. no can be a strong, all-purpose word that will keep your pet from doing things that it must not be doing.

These dog training commands will make your life a lot easier, and your dog’s relationship will establish. Having a good convo with your pet isn’t bad, eh?
